Tabetha’s Story

story

Tabetha was a typical student in our ministry a few years ago. I recently had the opportunity to catch up with her and see what path life has taken for her. In high school, Tabetha found herself pregnant at 17. She thought her life was over, but she was encouraged to check out the Parent Life (Teen Moms) program at her school. There, Tabetha met YFC staff who not only taught her how to be a mom, but also listened to her and loved her like she’d never really experienced. Intrigued by their honesty and love for her, Tabetha continued to be a regular in the Parent Life meetings and even came to the Bible Study that was offered. However, she also made it clear to everyone that she was not interested in any of “this God stuff.” Weeks and months passed, and her relationship with our team deepened and God began to work in her heart. It took over two years, but Tabetha finally realized her need for Jesus. She accepted His offer of forgiveness and her life changed dramatically. Tabetha told me that she would have never finished high school without the YFC/Parent Life leaders. She went on to say that she had no clue how things might have turned out if she never got involved with Parent Life. Tabetha is now married, has two beautiful girls and a career that looks promising.

“It all began to change when I walked through the doors of Parent Life.”

Tabetha was just one of many teen moms who not only need support, but need the hope of the Gospel. If you would like to be a part of making a difference in the lives of teen moms, click here.
